Founded by Robert Black in 1968, Robt. B. Black, Inc. started a family tradition of fine woodworking and refinishing for private customers and designers all over southern Wisconsin. Although the work was done in a converted dairy barn, our customers could count on custom, personal design and fine craftsmanship.
The hallmarks of our work remain the same today, and have grown to include a wide range of woodworking services. In the year 2000, sons Andrew and Stephen joined forces with their father Robert to create Black & Sons Furniture Makers, and add a new energy to the family company. With a new, clean, and airy shop built over the foundation of the old barn, we have a facility that meets our need to be flexible in today’s vibrant and demanding furniture and cabinetry industry. And our location in northeast Dane County and minutes from Madison keeps us close to several growing andprogressive urban areas in Southern Wisconsin.
Our collective experience in woodworking, homebuilding and remodeling allow Black & Sons Furniture Makers to provide unique and complete solutions for our customers home improvement wishes. With a third generation already taking over a corner of the shop, our customers’ future generations may have Black & Sons Furniture Makers to look to for their new kitchen or bath.
WOW! That’s what I said when I first got a look at our new kitchen! I am definitely not the kind of person who enjoys all the decision-making that needs to happen around a complete remodel. I don’t like it and I really don’t want to do it. So, when we decided to remodel our kitchen in our lovely old turn-of-the-last-century farm house, I really just wanted Andy to do it for us. From the very first visit, I knew that Andy and his crew would do a great job, in a timely fashion and be accessible for any questions we might have along the way. The quality of the craftsmanship and the professional way in which it was all handled was truly first-class. And the end result? WOW!
